Campers outside Sugarcreek GameStop waiting for hard-to-get game systems

SUGARCREEK TWP., Greene County — Two people spent the overnight hours in a tent outside the Sugarcreek Twp. GameStop waiting for the store to open Friday morning.

Both said they decided to camp out in line to hopefully get their hands on a PlayStation 5 video game system, one of the seasons high-demand tech gifts. But the two outside GameStop will have to wait overnight again tonight as the game retailer is one of several stores that is waiting to open until Friday morning. It’s a departure from what had turned into Thankgiving Day openings in recent years. Many retailers announced later openings as COVID-19 gripped the country.

A sign on the Sugarcreek store showed the retailer anticipated having two PS5s and six Xbox Series X consoles.
