A couple sleeping with their five-year-old son were unharmed after a bullet came through their wall, just feet above where they were sleeping.
At about 5 a.m. Monday, police responded to the 5000 block of Northcrest Drive for a report of shots fired.
A 33-year-old woman and her 54-year-old boyfriend told police they were asleep with their five-year-old son when they were awakened by a gun shot. The man said he felt debris falling on him that was later determined to be drywall.
Police tried to make contact at the residence next door, the only place the bullet could have come from, but were unsuccessful in reaching anyone.
