The crash was reported on Interstate 75 in the contraflow lane after 9:30 p.m.

Root said the four vehicles were stopped in the contraflow lane.

“There was a semi out front, the vehicles behind it observed the semi slightly rolling back, which is not uncommon with some semis when the driver lets off the clutch and it starts rolling,” Root said.

After the driver directly behind the semi saw it rolling backwards, they put their vehicle in reverse. The school bus and another vehicle did the same thing.

“The bus backed into a car and then the other car backed into the bus,” Root said.

No one was injured in this crash.

“Just a very long day for these young ladies that were at a sporting competition,” Root said.

A spokesperson with Lima City Schools confirmed that the girls’ lacrosse team was heading home from a game against Archbishop Carroll in Riverside.

After traffic started moving, all of the vehicles got off at the Miller Lane exit to fill out a police report.

News Center 7 crews on scene said Lima City Schools is written on the side of the school bus.

We will continue to follow this story.
