Depending on where you live, a living wage can fluctuate. News Center 7′s Candace Price wanted to find out what it would come out to in the Miami Valley, so she grabbed a calculator to find out.

In Montgomery County, a family with one adult and two children would need $42.21 an hour. It’s the same for Greene County. However, in Miami County, it’s $39.24 an hour.

According to Job search site Zip Recruiter, the average pay in Ohio is $18 an hour.

The report used data in 2021, not considering the spike in inflation, which means you cold need a lot more to make ends meet now.

The data did, however, point out the disparities when it comes to wages for women and people of color.

They concluded women of all races need to work several months more to earn the same average annual salary of a white man, which is $61,000.

Hispanic women must work the longest and added 10 months to earn that wage.

Disparities in wages, such as those for women and people of color make it even harder for those groups to earn a livable wage.
