DAYTON — The Animal Resource Center (ARC) of Montgomery County announced that they are currently over maximum capacity.
“When we reach this number of dogs, it limits the services we’re able to provide – it’s difficult to bring in lost and stray dogs if there’s nowhere to put them,” ARC stated in a Facebook post.
ARC is asking for help with their capacity numbers.
“When you adopt a dog from ARC, you’re not saving just one life, but two! Open kennels mean more space for ARC to care for lost and stray dogs so they too have the chance to find a loving home.”
The dogs available for adoption are on ARC’s website.
A second option is available for people who want to help, but cannot adopt a dog. ARC has foster volunteers which allows dogs to be temporarily placed in a home so that they can relax and let their true personality shine.
ARC noted that they are still responding to high priority calls and they are continuing to patrol and pick up dogs posing health and safety risks.
