HUBER HEIGHTS — People living at a Huber Heights apartment complex are upset over problems they say aren’t being fixed.
The residents reached out to News Center 7 about their concerns over mold and water damage.
Two of the residents provided us video that showed water gushing out of the water heater.
“It went all the way over here. All the way to my front door. All the way back to my sliding glass door into my kitchen. The whole area was covered,” Ashley said.

That damage was done in early February. Today, she pulled back the carpet to highlight some of her concerns.
“It looks like the wood is rotting. It’s rusty. The carpet is still wet and the padding. I’m afraid it might be mildewing,” Ashley said.
In another apartment, at Glenburn Co-op, they have a concern about mold. So, Tamara hired a company to test the mold.
“The professional that did come out and did the test said the part in my unit, the whole part, should be cut out,” Tamara said.
She continued by saying the maintenance staff just painted over the mold. I went by the office, and it was closed. Tamara then called to talk to the property manger who told News Center 7 that they have no outstanding work orders and that they are unaware of any of these possible issues. Property manager also said some of the apartments are inspected every year.
“I just wish they would treat people the way they want to be treated. If there’s an issue, address it, fix it, and take care of it right away. Don’t band-aid it. Don’t make people feel like they’re in the wrong because they’re coming to you. Don’t ignore them,” Tamara said.

Tamara is upset with the living conditions. She said it’s not the worst place to live, but that there are serious issues she wants to be fixed.
“Money for one. It’s not that easy to pack up and leave. There’s not a lot of vacancies out there. These apartments out here seems like it’s going up, up and up,” Tamara said.
The tenants said they are evaluating their options to see what their next step will be as they try to move forward to get the problems fixed.
