SPRINGFIELD — Two people were reportedly hurt in a shooting in Springfield on Friday.

The shooting was reported in the 500 block of Park Place around 12:42 p.m., according to Springfield Police.

Police confirmed two people were reported shot. The severity of the injuries was not initially made known.
The shooting scene is not far from Wittenberg University and Cliff Park.
“Springfield City Police are actively handling the situation. Upon learning about the incident, Wittenberg Police immediately communicated to the campus to stay/move to a secure location and to check email for updates via the University’s emergency alert system,“ a Wittenberg University spokesperson told News Center 7.
Around 2:30 p.m., the university was given the all-clear by Springfield police.
The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations confirmed they are on scene.
In a 911 call, a woman tells dispatchers a man named Mike shot her and her boyfriend.
The woman said she was shot in the leg while her boyfriend was shot in the stomach.
