1 injured after semi, sedan collide in Miami County

MIAMI COUNTY — One person was hurt after a crash involving a semi-trailer in Miami County Monday afternoon.

Around 5 p.m. deputies and medics were called to the intersection of US-36 and Sodom-Ballou Road to reports of a crash between a semi-trailer and a sedan.

An initial investigation found that a sedan was traveling north on Sodom-Ballou when it did not stop at a stop sign, crashing into a semi-trailer traveling westbound on US-36, according to Miami County Sheriff’s Department.

Both the semi and sedan went off the roadway as a result of the crash.

A passenger in the sedan was taken to Upper Valley Medical Center, according to deputies.

Information about their current condition was not available.

Careflight was called to respond to the scene, but had to cancel due to weather conditions.
