Juvenile, 16, charged in pursuit of stolen vehicle that ends in Montgomery County

MIAMI TOWNSHIP — A 16-year-old is the person who was taken into custody in the pursuit of a suspected stolen vehicle late Wednesday night that ended with his capture in Miami Twp.

The juvenile, whose name WHIO is not releasing because of his age, is in the Warren County Juvenile Detention Center, Sgt. Ryan Purpura, Northwest/Southwest Region public information officer, Ohio State Highway Patrol, said Thursday.

The juvenile is being charged with receiving stolen property and failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer, Purpura said, noting that both charges are felonies.

According to the patrol post at Lebanon, troopers began pursuing the vehicle in Warren County. The suspect got out of the vehicle in the area of I-75 at state Route 725.

Law enforcement began searching for the suspect in the area of Best Buy in Miami Twp., according to initial dispatch scanner transmissions.

According to the state patrol, the suspect was taken into custody in the area of the Best Buy near the I-75 ramp from Miamisburg-Centerville Road and Bob’s Discount Furniture and Mattress store on Mall Woods Drive.
