20,000 rubber ducks to take the plunge for URS’s 15th Annual Rubber Duck Regatta today

United Rehabilitation Services’ 15th  Annual Rubber Duck Regatta will be held at RiverScape MetroPark today.

The Great Miami River will host a controlled race of 20,000 adopted yellow rubber ducks to support local children and adults with disabilities at URS, according to URS’s website.

The events begin at 11 a.m. with the duck race beginning at 4:30 p.m.

Participants have been adopting yellow rubber ducks for a $5 donation to URS since July 20. They can win one of seven prizes for placing in the race.

The event will be held along with the Hispanic Heritage Festival.

Final duck adoptions will be available prior to the race if they have not sold out.

  • 11 a.m.: The Hispanic Heritage Festival opens. URS will sell remaining rubber ducks for the race.
  • 12 p.m.: URS mascot, Quakers and his crew will march in the Hispanic Parade.
  • 4:15 p.m.: The Quacky Kid's Parade with Quackers will be held under the white pavilion. 
  • 4:30 p.m.: Watch 20,000 rubber ducks drop from the Riverside Drive Bridge and race to the finish at Founder's Point.
  • 11 p.m.: The Hispanic Heritage Festival ends.
