The homeonwer said she heard a loud clap of lightning and soon found flames inside her dining room.
She called 9-1-1 immediately, suspecting that lightning had struck her home, and went outside to investigate.
Nothing was immediately visible outside, she said, but after going back inside she found smoke from a fire that had started in the dining room.
The homeowner grabbed a garden hose and started to douse the flames. Meanwhile, firefighters arrived on scene and took over.
There was some damage to the home, but luckily no one was injured.

Crews in Preble County are responding to a reported house fire that was started by lightning.
The resident called 9-1-1 shortly after 9:30 a.m. after smelling smoke then discovering flames at her home in the 2200 block of Camden West Elkton Road.
A strong thunderstorm was moving through the area at the time.
