The Kroger in Sugarcreek Twp. was evacuated after people smelled a burning odor and the power went off.
Crews from Bellbrook and Washington Twp. responded around 10:30 a.m. to the store at 6480 Wilmington Pike.
There was a slight haze of smoke inside the store that was coming from compressors, according to a fire official.
The malfunction occurred because of work going on by Dayton Power & Light Co.
All customers and employees had to leave the building for about an hour.
