Kettering woman handed fake money in Xbox sale

DAYTON — A Dayton woman using the Let Go app accepted fake money for the sale of her Xbox.

The 21-year-old woman waited until she returned to her car after making the exchange to check the cash she was given. It was two $100 bills with “For Motion Picture Use Only” written on them, according to a Dayton police report.

This happened around 11:40 p.m. Feb. 28 outside the Walgreens on South Smithville Road.

The Kettering woman then called Dayton police to investigate.

The man she sold the Xbox to was listed on the Let Go app as living in Akron, but told the woman he actually lives in Middletown.

The suspect called himself Christian, and was wearing a dark jacket, tan shirt, blue jeans.
