K-9 attempts to locate 5 suspects who robbed Kettering gas station

KETTERING — A police K-9 was unsuccessful in locating five people that robbed a BP gas station in Kettering early Thursday morning.

According to Kettering Police Lt. Lee Sanders, officials responded to the gas station at 2361 Smithville Road around 1:30 a.m. on an armed robbery. Five males wearing masks displayed handguns and demanded cash from the store clerk.

The suspects left on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash going eastbound on Smithville Road.

A medic unit was called to the scene to check on the store clerk who police described as “shaken up” from the ordeal.
