Man shows up at Springfield ER with gunshot wound to chest

SPRINGFIELD — A man showed up at Springfield Regional Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the chest this afternoon, but is expected to survive his injuries, according to Springfield Police.

The shooting was reported to have happened at a convenience store at 502 S. Yellow Springs St. on Tuesday around 2:30 p.m., according to Springfield dispatchers.

According to police scanners, police were still looking for a vehicle connected to the crime.
