Greenville car fire suspect nabbed in Indiana

A suspect wanted in connection to eight car fires in Greenville was nabbed this afternoon by police in Indiana.

Lowell "Bill" Bowers was booked into the Randolph County Jail at 3:15 p.m. after he was arrested by Union City, Ind., officers. He is being held on two failure to appear charges out of Randolph County and a holder for an Ohio county, according to the Randolph County Sheriff's Office.

A warrant for Bowers' arrest was issued Friday by the Greenville Police Department.

Bowers is a suspect in eight vehicle fires and thefts from the vehicles on July 22. Bowers was aware of the warrant, but apparently left Darke County, according to Greenville police.

An alleged accomplice, Joshua Willis, already was in custody, Greenville police said. Willis is being held in the Mercer County Jail on suspicion of theft charges.
