Governor DeWine orders all U.S., Ohio flags be lowered in honor of fallen Deputy Daniel J. Kin

To honor the life and service of Wyandot County Sheriff’s Deputy Daniel J. Kin, Governor DeWine orders all flags of the United States and the State of Ohio be flown at half-staff, according to a spokesperson with Governor DeWine’s office.

On Thursday, Dec, 15th., Deputy Kin was transporting an inmate northbound on State Route 104 when he was involved in a traffic crash, according to the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office social media page.

Deputy Kin was flown to Grant Medical Center where he ultimately passed away due to his injuries, the spokesperson said.

All flags on all public buildings and grounds through Wyandot County, the Ohio Statehouse, Rhodes Tower and the Riffe Center should be flown at half-staff and remain lowered until sunset on the day of Deputy Kins’ funeral, the spokesperson said.

All other public buildings and grounds may fly their flags at half-staff at their discretion during that time, the spokesperson said.
