The former Der Dutchman building is to be demolished.

Gary Copeland, manager and director of public safety for the village of Waynesville, obtained the permit for the demolition on Aug. 7, according to Warren County Building Department records.

The 22,000 square foot restaurant building and adjoining 41.9 acre complex at 230 N. US 42 have been closed since a fire in October 2010.

The building is still owned by the Dutch Corp.

A series of prospective buyers, including Premier Health Partners, have looked at the site.
