State police: Neighbor dispute ends with deadly shooting in Wayne County; 1 charged with murder

WAYNE COUNTY., Indiana — A Wayne County, Indiana man died after he was shot multiple times during a dispute with his neighbor near Hagerstown Wednesday afternoon, according to the Indiana State Police.

Officers, state troopers, and medics were called to a home in the 4700 block of Brick Church Road, southwest of Hagerstown, around 2:20 p.m. Wednesday on reports of a possible shooting.

KC Allen Simpson, 32, was found by officers suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to an Indianapolis hospital by medical helicopter but later died from his injuries, state troopers said in a media release.

A neighbor, identified as Billy Wilson Sr. 77, surrendered to officers and was arrested on a preliminary charge of murder. He remains booked in the Wayne County Jail Thursday, according to online jail records.
