Sean T. Porter, 56, was sentenced to 20 years in federal prison after investigators said he tried to coerce girls he knew were underage to send him nude photos, a spokesperson for the U.S. Department of Justice said in a media release. Porter was also a registered sex offender after a previous conviction on federal sex crimes.

Porter created multiple accounts on a dating app with profile names of “Sean” or “Mike” and communicated to 52 people that identified themselves as minors, including a child as young as 11-years-old. Porter sent pornographic images of himself to 26 suspected minors and also tried to have them send sexual content to him.

One of the minors was an FBI undercover officer who was using personas of minor females.

“Porter made a number of requests for the undercover officer to send nude images. On Valentine’s Day 2021, Porter sent a video of himself engaging in sexual conduct to the agent purporting to be a teenager,” the spokesperson said.

Porter was on federal supervision after serving 10 years in a federal prison for a previous sex crimes conviction.

Additional details were not released.
