Springfield police are searching for a man they say punched his girlfriend in the face so hard her eyes were swollen shut.
An arrest warrant was issued today for 41-year-old Dwight Norman Brown of Springfield on a felonious assault charge.
According to court documents, Brown on Friday afternoon punched his girlfriend in the face, knocked her to the ground and continued to punch her in the face. The woman told police the attack came after she made a comment that angered Brown while they were walking back to her apartment a Speedway store.
The girlfriend was treated at Springfield Regional Medical Center.
