Masked robber fires gun inside Dollar General in Trotwood

TROTWOOD — A masked man fired a gun Tuesday night as he held up a Dollar General store.

Police were called just before 8:20 p.m. to a report of a “robbery in progress” at the store at 4000 Salem Ave. in Trotwood.

The robber is described as a man standing at least 6 feet tall and weighing 200 pounds with a white surgical mask covering his face. He wore black boots, gray sweatpants and a black hooded jacket and also had a blue backpack, according to initial reports.

He was carrying a small silver handgun and was seen getting into a silver SUV or sedan, witnesses told police.

No injuries were reported.
