WATCH: Man accused of holding woman against her will, leading Dayton police on chase

DAYTON — A 39-year-old man accused of holding a woman against her will and leading police on a chase before crashing on Ohio 4 south was indictment on multiple charges.

Shawn C. Brownlee was indicted on domestic violence, failure to comply, abduction, felonious assault and kidnapping, according to a Montgomery County grand jury report.

Dayton police released cruiser camera footage following a public records request from News Center 7.

On July 3, Dayton police responded to the Deeds Avenue and Ray Street area after a woman texted 911 and reported she was being held against her will, investigators said.

While police were investigating, Brownlee reportedly drove off with the victim in the car.

Police followed the car until it crash into a tractor-trailer on Ohio 4 south near Harshman Road.

Brownlee was arrested after a short foot chase.

The victim suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital, along with Brownlee.

He is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday.
