DAYTON — A 22-year-old gunshot victim was arrested after police say he brought drugs with him to Miami Valley Hospital.
Tyran Gooch of Dayton was brought to the hospital around 9 p.m. Saturday with a gunshot wound to his left buttock. He was brought to the hospital by three men who told police they saw Gooch on the ground near his vehicle, according to a Dayton police report.
Gooch told police he didn’t see who shot him, but that he was standing outside his car parked in the 900 block of Danner Avenue when it happened. He said he heard a car pull up, then heard two or three gunshots and then collapsed to the ground when he was struck. Police did not find evidence of a crime scene in the 900 block of Danner Avenue, the report stated.
At the hospital, staff allegedly found a block of a white powdery substance in a clear plastic baggy inside Gooch’s pants. Dayton police arrested Gooch on suspicion of felony drug possession, according to the report.
