A Dayton man who pleaded guilty for a March crash that killed a Dayton woman has been sentenced to seven years in prison.
Richard P. Dunlevy was convicted early this month of four counts of aggravated vehicular homicide and for operating a vehicle while under the influence. Dunlevy was sentenced today to seven years in prison, pay $78,902 in restitution to the state, and serve 180 days on the OVI charge, which will run concurrently with the prison sentence. He will receive drug and alcohol treatment in prison, have his license suspended for life and post release control for a five-year period.

A 46-year-old Dayton man pleaded guilty in a March crash that killed a Dayton woman.
Richard P. Dunlevy was convicted today of four counts of aggravated vehicular homicide and for operating a vehicle while under the influence in connection to the March 29 crash in the 2300 block of Alice Street, according to a news release from Montgomery County Prosecutor Mat Heck Jr.
Driver Sara L. Hinders, 61, was critically injured and died of her injuries three days later.
Dunlevy was speeding in an alley at the time of the crash, and also was under the influence of alcohol and driving on a suspended license, according to police and prosecutors.
Dunlevy has been booked into the Montgomery County Jail since September. He will be sentenced Dec. 30, according to the release.
UPDATE Sept. 17, 2014:
The driver of a Chevrolet Blazer involved in a deadly crash in March was indicted Wednesday by a Montgomery County grand jury.
Richard Dunlevy, 46, is now charged with four counts of aggravated vehicular homicide for the death of Sara L. Hinders, 61. He is also facing one count of OVI.
He did not have a valid driver’s license and was under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs at the time of the accident according to prosecutors on the case.
The crash occurred in the 2300 block of Alice Street in Dayton. Dunlevy was speeding in an alley when his SUV slammed into Hinders’ car, according to police.

A Dayton woman has succumbed to injuries she suffered in a car crash last week.
Sara L. Hinders, 61, was pronoucned dead Tuesday at Miami Valley Hospital, according to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office.
She was critically injured three days earlier, on Saturday, in a crash in the 2300 block of Alice Street. According to Dayton police, the driver of a Chevrolet Blazer was speeding in an alley shortly after 4 p.m. when the SUV struck Hinders’ car on Alice Street.
The crash sent both drivers to the hospital and caused heavy damages to both vehicles and also a detached garage.
Police have filed an aggravated vehicular homicide report, but no suspect information was immediately available.
FIRST REPORT March 29, 2014:
A crash damaged a garage and sent at least two people to the hospital Saturday in Dayton.
Dayton police and emergency crews responded shortly after 4 p.m. to the scene in the 2300 block of Alice Street.
Two vehicles showed heavy damages as did a small garage that one of the vehicle”s struck.
Witnesses reported seeing firefighters and medics working to help a person who was entrapped in that vehicle.
Further details about what happened and the severity of injuries were not immediately available.
