A convicted burglar currently in prison has been indicted for the stabbing death of 81-year-old Edith King of West Carrollton.
Travis Burke, 24, is currently in North Central Correctional Institution in Marion, Ohio, serving a two year sentence for burglary in an unrelated case. King's daughter found her stabbed to death inside her home on Windsor Court in West Carrollton on April 8, 2013. King's car was stolen and eventually located at a housing complex on Limestone Avenue in west Dayton.
Burke was indicted on:
- Three counts Aggravated Murder
- Two counts Aggravated Burglary
- Two counts Aggravated Robbery
- One count Tampering With Evidence
- One count Trespass in a Habitation
Burke will be arraigned on March 6, 2014.
Prosecutor Heck said, "This brutal murder of an innocent 81 year old victim was senseless. I commend the West Carrollton Police Department for their hard work in solving this violent crime."
