Cats taken from 'unsanitary' W. Carrollton home

More than 20 cats have been removed from a Lindbergh Boulevard home after the city's code enforcement officer deemed the home severely unsanitary.

Montgomery County Animal Resource Center workers and Carl Enterman, West Carrollton code enforcement officer, are trying to corral "an estimated 10 to another 20" cats from the residence in the 5000 block of Lindbergh.

An anonymous complaint was called to police Monday morning about a large rubbish pile in the back of the property, the officer said Monday night.

During that investigation, officers uncovered "severe unsanitary conditions inside the house," he said.

The residents -- an older woman, an adult son and an adult daughter -- have left the residence and must find lodging for the night, Enterman said.

Right now, no charges have been filed pending the outcome of the investigation.
