Central State receives scholarship grant from the USDA’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture

WILBERFORCE — Central State University was one of 19 to receive part of the $14 million grant from The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture.

The scholarships are intended to encourage students to pursue and complete bachelor’s degrees in the food and agricultural sciences and related fields.

“Today’s announcement signifies our continuing partnership with the 1890 land-grant universities to ensure the sustainability of our country’s agricultural future,” said NIFA Director J. Scott Angle in a written statement. “We are pleased to support these important institutions as they develop the next generation of agricultural leaders.”

The funding is possible through the NIFA's 1890 Scholarships Program, authorized by the 2018 Farm Bill.
