Roads open following CareFlight responded to crash on I-75 in Piqua

PIQUA — UPDATE 6:03 p.m.:

The Piqua Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol reports the roads are open following a crash reported around 1:45 p.m.

UPDATE 3:30 p.m.:

I-75 near Piqua is still closed after CareFlight took one person from the scene of a crash, according to the Piqua Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Heavy backups are still being reported in the area.

FIRST REPORT 1:45 p.m.:

Emergency crews are responding to a crash on Interstate 75 North in Piqua near mile marker 82.

CareFlight is responding to the single-vehicle crash, according to dispatchers.

A disabled vehicle is in the southbound lanes near the vehicle crash causing additional backups in the area.

All northbound and southbound lanes are closed on I-75 near mile marker 82.

We are working to learn what caused the crash and how severe injuries are.
