DAYTON, Ohio — Organizers with the CenterPoint Energy Dayton Air Show said an estimated 40,000 peopled attended the 2021 air show.

The air show was held at Dayton International Airport. Organizers said unfavorable forecasts and rain led to lower attendance. However, the turnout on Saturday was more than double what it was on Sunday.

The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds headlined this year’s show and was joined by many other high-flying acts.

Scott Buchanan Chairman of the United States Air and Trade Show Board of Trustees, said, “We are pleased with the outcome of this year’s show overall.” He continued by saying, “The lineup was fantastic, and we came back strong, but the weather simply hampered turnout especially on Sunday. We’re very thankful to our loyal fans, sponsors and volunteers who help make the show a success each year.”

Organizers said they are already working on the 2022 show. The U.S. Navy Blue Angels will headline on July 30 and 31.
