MECHANICSBURG — UPDATE @ 10:49 p.m.: The victim in the dog attack in Champaign County has been taken to a hospital, according to county sheriff’s dispatch.
The victim’s injuries are not believed to be life threatening. The sheriff’s office released no other information about the incident.
INITIAL REPORT
Medics have been dispatched to an address on U.S. 36 in Mechanicsburg on the report of a dog attack that has left the victim with serious injuries.
We're hearing the victim, identified as a female, has suffered injuries to her hands and arms that has led to heavy blood loss.
A medical unit was sent to the address in the 7300 block of East U.S. 36 about 9:20 p.m.
