Deputies catch up with male suspected of driving off from traffic stop and prompting pursuit

HUBER HEIGHTS — A male suspected of speeding off from a traffic stop in Huber Heights and prompting a pursuit is in custody after he was picked up outside a home in Harrison Twp.

The male, sought on active arrest warrants, was taken into custody outside the home at Peach Tree and Hillcrest avenues by Montgomery County Sheriff's deputies as he got into the vehicle police tried to stop in Huber Heights.

Earlier Tuesday, a Huber Heights officer saw a white Impala headed west on Chambersburg Road and wanted to pull the car over on traffic violations. The officer also suspected the driver was wanted on a felony, Sgt. David Garlow said.

A high-speed pursuit began and the officer stopped the chase when he lost sight of the car as it traveled south on Old Troy Pike.

Sheriff's deputies located the vehicle at the Harrison Twp. address and detained a male who was getting into the car. They found there were felony arrest warrants for him.

Garlow said police believe that man was the driver of the Impala.
