Coronavirus: Frisch’s Big Boy not reopening in Urbana

CINCINNATI — Frisch’s Big Boy will not reopen its location in Urbana and several other places in Ohio and Kentucky because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Urbana location, 1228 Scioto St., as well as six restaurants total in Ohio will close permanently, including in Gahanna and Marysville.

“When stay-at-home orders were put into effect, Frisch’s Big Boy found new and innovative ways to serve you,” read a company statement issued Monday. “Like many restaurants across the nation, we’ve also been challenged to make difficult decisions for the overall good of our business.”

Due to the impact of the pandemic, the company said some of its restaurants in Ohio and Kentucky will remain open as drive-thru and carryout only.

“We thank our communities for their continued support and invite you to make new memories with your family – and ours – as we move forward,” the statement read.

Frisch’s will continue to offer drive-through and carryout only at the following locations:

Moraine, Hamilton (Main Street and Dixie Highway) and Middletown

The chain will continue to offer drive-through, carryout and dine-in at the following locations:

Beavercreek, Bellbrook, Butler Twp. (Benchwood Road), Eaton, Englewood, Fairborn, Franklin, Huber Heights, Kettering, Lebanon, Richmond, Indiana; Sidney, Springboro, Springfield (North Bechtle and East Main), Tipp City, Troy and Xenia.
