Will you be able to spot Mars and Uranus this weekend?

NOW PLAYING ABOVE

Although cold temperatures may return to the Miami Valley this weekend, you will have the opportunity to see Mars and Uranus.

The moon will be near these two planets the evenings of Feb. 9, 10 and 11. A waxing crescent moon will be out in the southwest sky once it gets dark.

>> 5-Day Forecast

On Feb. 9, Mars will be to the top right of the moon. The night of Feb. 10 is your best chance to see a lineup of the moon, Uranus and Mars. The two planets will be next to the moon. Mars will be easy to see since it will shine bright.

Uranus will be between the moon and Mars this night, but it is a much fainter planet. It’s unlikely that you will be able to see it without binoculars.

If you look to the southwest on Feb. 11, Mars will be at the bottom right of the moon. Remember, Mars will not twinkle like a star, but instead it will shine bright and steady.
