Say goodbye to the warmth; Cold and snow arrives this weekend

MIAMI VALLEY — A strong cold front will cross through the Miami Valley on Friday bringing with it blustery and cold conditions for the weekend, but that’s not the only weather Miami Valley residents will have to deal with this weekend.

As temperatures fall below freezing early Saturday morning, a weak disturbance is forecasted to pass through the Miami Valley causing a few light snow showers in the morning. As temperatures climb, this wintry precipitation will likely mix with a bit of chilly rain. At this point there is little to no accumulation expected, but drivers should use caution while traveling.

Saturday and Sunday afternoon will also come with the chance of a few passing lake effect flurries or snow showers. Again, snow accumulation is not expected, but it’s just a visual reminder of the pattern shift southwest Ohio will see and feel.

Finally, the Storm Center 7 team is also keeping a close eye on a storm system set to move though the mid-west on Tuesday. A lot of question marks are surrounding the outcome of this system, but there appears to be a least a small chance for a wintry mix.

Stay tuned to WHIO for any updates through the weekend.
