Much needed rain returns to Miami Valley

EXTENDED FORECAST

Today: Clouds will continue to increase and thicken through the morning. Abundant moisture will continue to life into the Miami Valley with this system, bringing rain late morning, said StormCenter 7 Meteorologist Kirstie Zontini. Rain will become steady and heavier into the evening and winds will become gusty late in the day and into the night. Ponding on roads, especially in areas where leaves have not been cleared from drains is possible. Highs will hold in the upper 50s.

Wednesday: A soggy commute is expected as it will be windy and wet. Isolated higher gusts will be around 30 mph late Tuesday and early Wednesday morning. Rain will taper off to scattered showers during the afternoon and early evening. A storm or two will be possible. Temperatures will climb into the the mid-60s before the cold front crosses Wednesday night.

Thursday: Drier air moves in quickly. A mix of sun and clouds is expected, and gusts of 30 mph are still possible, especially to the north. Cooler air will return as high temperatures reach the lower 50s.

Friday: Some patchy frost is possible in the morning and plenty of sunshine is expected in the afternoon. It will be seasonably cool with highs in the mid-50s.

Saturday: Clouds will increase as temperatures reach near 60 in the afternoon. A few showers are possible date in the day.
