Skies will be mostly clear with comfortably cool temperatures, StormCenter 7 Chief Meteorologist Eric Elwell said.
“It might be a good evening to give the air conditioner a rest and open up the windows as humidity levels will remain low,” Elwell said, with overnight lows hovering in the middle 50s.
In Randolph County, Indiana, a flood warning is in effect until 10 a.m. Thursday, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.
Thursday: Mostly sunny skies are back in the forecast with higher temperatures. Humidity levels will remain relatively low for another day. Highs will reach into the lower 80s.
Friday: Skies will become partly cloudy and the heat and humidity will be on the increase. By late afternoon, pop-up showers and thunderstorms will be possible. High temperatures will approach 90 degrees by late in the day.
Saturday: It will be a very warm and muggy afternoon with a mix of sun and clouds. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible as a frontal boundary moves into the area. An isolated strong storm cannot be ruled out. Highs will reach into the lower 90s.
Sunday: Partly cloudy skies will stick around as will the heat and humidity. Pop-up storms will remain possible, especially during the afternoon and evening. Highs will say in the lower 90s with a heat index likely in the middle 90s.
Monday: Scattered thunderstorms will be likely as a cold front moves into the region. A few strong storms are possible, depending on the timing of the front. Highs will drop back into the middle 80s.
