CINCINNATI — Following Monday night’s thrashing at the hands of the Cleveland Browns, the Cincinnati Bengals received more bad injury news.
>>Adam Zimmer, Bengals offensive analyst and son of former coach Mike Zimmer, dies unexpectedly
Star cornerback Chidobe Awuzie suffered a torn ACL in his right knee and will be out for the remainder of the season, according to multiple reports from NFL reporters.
Awuzie went off injured in the first half of the Bengals eventual 32-13 loss to the Browns. After a short stint in the team’s medical tent, Awuzie was declared out.

Awuzie posted a statement to social media shortly after the reports started to surface of the extent of his injury.

God will provide the necessary strength 🙏🏿
Awuzie’s injury hits an already injury-stricken Bengals team, who were without veteran cornerback Eli Apple who missed Monday’s game, and also saw injuries to other players during the game.
>>Injury to sideline Bengals star WR Chase for multiple weeks
Star wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase is also out for several more weeks, but will not be placed on injured reserve, following a hip injury first sustained in the Oct. 16 game against the New Orleans Saints, only to be reinjured in the game against the Atlanta Falcons the following weekend.
Tuesday is also the NFL trade deadline, with the Bengals possibly in line to make moves to help two of the depleted skill positions. Cincinnati has yet to have their bye week, but will go on the bye after Sunday’s game against the Carolina Panthers.
A likely major loss: Sources say #Bengals CB Chidobe Awuzie is feared to have suffered a season-ending knee injury in last night’s game and he’ll have an MRI today to confirm. The belief going in is a torn ACL.
