Former Dayton Dragon Elly De La Cruz, the top prospect in the organization and widely viewed as one of the top prospects in all of baseball, made his Major League debut Tuesday night against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

He went 1 for 3, scored a run, and walked twice as the Reds came from behind to beat the Dodgers, 9-8.

De La Cruz walked in his first time at bat in the first inning and scored on a two-run single by Tyler Stephenson to tie it at 3-3.

He doubled to center for his first Major League hit in the third and walked again in the fifth.

De La Cruz grounded out to second in the sixth and struck out in the eighth in his final two at-bats of the game.

Cincinnati scored three times in the ninth to win the game. Matt McClain’s walk-off single with one out won it for the Reds.
