Bengals RB Joe Mixon fined for coin flip celebration, former Bengal ready to pay

CINCINNATI — Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon is facing a fine after mocking the NFL with a coin flip touchdown celebration in Sunday’s Week 18 over Baltimore.

Former Bengal Chad ‘Ochocinco’ Johnson is ready to pay it, according to our news partner WCPO in Cincinnati.

Mixon was fined at least $13,000 for his touchdown celebration when he hid a coin in his glove and flipped it in the end zone after scoring a touchdown during the first quarter against the Ravens, according to his social media account.

The celebration was Mixon’s way of taking shots at the NFL for its playoff procedures which would have caused first-round home field advantage to be decided by a coin flip if the Bengals would have lost to the Ravens in Week 18, WCPO said.

It became moot when the Bengals beat the Ravens, 27-16.

Now that he’s been fined, Mixon is calling on the former Bengal and Johnson may be ready to pay the check, WCPO said.
