The Bengals will wear their black primary jerseys, white pants with orange tiger stripes, and orange socks to go along with their standard orange and black striped helmet, according to a social media post from the team.
As the designated home team for the Super Bowl, the Bengals were given the choice of what combination they wanted to wear first. Their opponent, the Los Angeles Rams have not announced their uniform combination but will not be wearing their blue primary jerseys. The Rams have a bone-colored secondary jersey and a white alternate.
The Bengals’ combination is the same pairing the team wore for the Wild Card Weekend win over the Las Vegas Raiders. The past two weekends the Bengals wore their white secondary jerseys, white pants with black stripes, and black socks as the designated road team in the AFC Divisional and Championship rounds.
Cincinnati is 1-1 in this combination this season, winning in the game against the Raiders but losing in the Dec. 12 matchup with the San Francisco 49ers, according to Jay Morrison, Bengals writer for The Athletic.
Cincinnati wore a similar uniform combination for the franchise’s first Super Bowl appearance in Super Bowl XVI, wearing black jerseys and white pants. The second Super Bowl, Super Bowl XXIII saw the Bengals in all white with their orange helmets.
The Bengals will play the Rams Sunday February 13 at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium.
