News Center 7's James Rider spoke with Willow Pellman, 10, and her sister Eden Pellman, 7, on the project the girls have been working on.
The masks’ elastic that is normally worn behind the ears can instead be looped to the guard and fashioned on the back of the head to remove pressure from the ears.
Each ear guard takes about 30 minutes to make. So far the sisters have made 75.
The two got the design from their grandmother, who saw a national story about a boy scout who came up with the idea, and thought the girls would enjoy making them as well.
Their mother, Laura Pellman, posted the girls’ ear guard project on Facebook and it has garnered a lot of attention, receiving a plethora of likes, comments and interest.

They shared their favorite parts of making the guards with James Rider; Eden saying her favorite part is seeing people stop by and pick them up, while Willow said she likes helping people.
The Pellman sisters will be making ear guards until they run out of the filament to make them.
