Troopers investigate after semi shot at by pellet gun on I-70 in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD — Ohio State High Patrol Springfield Division is investigating after a semi was shot with a pellet gun by an unknown person on I-70 in Springfield Monday night around 11:15 p.m.

“I was driving down the road last night when I got blasted with bullets,” said Marc Sommers in a Facebook post. "Without going into too much detail, I dodged the bullets, and I’m okay. However, the truck will need a lot of work done to it.

The shooter was in a vehicle and fled the scene, according to Springfield OSHP.

Troopers are working to obtain video of the incident to see if they can identify the shooter.

“I want to say a HUGE THANK YOU to the first responders and the numerous state and local law enforcement who were most concerned about me and my safety,” Sommers said.
