CINCINNATI — A video of a heartwarming exchange between a bonobo and her baby granddaughter is going viral on social media.
According to WTVT, Ohio’s Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden took to Facebook on Tuesday to post a clip of Lana, the older primate, playfully kissing 8-month-old Amali.
“Adorable video of Lana playing with her granddaughter, Amali,” the zoo captioned the video, which has been shared more than 24,000 times.
Amali was born in July 2020 to mother Kesi, the zoo announced in a blog post at the time.
According to the zoo’s website, the animals are humans’ “closest living relative” and “highly intelligent.”
