Russia attacks Ukraine: Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to address US Congress

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is to address the U.S. Congress Wednesday morning.

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer sent a letter to both houses informing the members of the virtual visit, CNN reported.

The message read “The Congress, our country and the world are in awe of the people of Ukraine, who have shown extraordinary courage, resilience and determination in the face of Russia’s unprovoked, vicious, and illegal war,” according to a Twitter post by Kyle Cheney of Politico.

The virtual address will happen Wednesday at 9 a.m. in the Capitol Visitor Center Congressional Auditorium and is only open to members of the House and Senate.

Ukraine has been under attack by Russian forces since the Feb. 24 invasion.

Monday marked the fourth round of talks between Ukrainian and Russian leaders. The meeting is being held virtually, unlike the three earlier sessions that were held in person in Belarus, CNN reported.
