Hall was rescued from Ukraine after he was injured on March 14, Fox News reported. He was flown to a hospital in Germany and later transferred to a medical facility in Texas, where he underwent multiple surgeries, the news outlet reported. Two of his colleagues -- Fox News cameraman Pierre Zakrzewski, 55, and fixer Oleksandra “Sasha” Kuvshynova, 24 -- died in the attack, CBS News reported.

“It’s been over three weeks since the attack in Ukraine and I wanted to start sharing it all,” Hall tweeted. “But first I need to pay tribute to my colleagues Pierre and Sasha who didn’t make it that day. Pierre and I traveled the world together, working was his joy and his joy was infectious. RIP.”

Hall also posted a picture of himself on a stretcher, writing in another tweet, “To sum it up, I’ve lost half a leg on one side and a foot on the other. One hand is being put together, one eye is no longer working, and my hearing is pretty blown.

“But all in all I feel pretty damn lucky to be here -- and it is the people who got me here who are amazing.”

Hall, who had been deployed in recent weeks to cover Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, has three young daughters, Fox News reported.

A funeral service for Zakrzewski was held last week in Ireland, the news network reported.

Hall was reporting near Kyiv with Zakrzewski and Kuvshynova when their vehicle “was struck by incoming fire” on March 14, Fox News said in a statement.
