MANCHESTER, N.H. — Police are searching for a man in connection with the birth of a baby in the New Hampshire woods on Dec. 26.
In a news release, the Manchester Police Department said that there is an active arrest warrant for George Theberge, 45, in connection with the birth of a baby at the end of last month.
The Manchester Police Department said it believes that Theberge was with the baby’s mother, Alexandra Eckersley when she gave birth in a tent. When she gave birth, the temperatures were about 15 degrees and the baby was left alone for an hour before officers found it, according to reports.
The baby was found with no clothing, freezing and alone in the dark woods, according to WFXT.
The news station reported that Theberge is wanted on charges of felony tampering with witnesses, reckless conduct and endangering the welfare of a child.
Eckersley, 26, is the adopted daughter of former Boston Red Sox pitcher Dennis Eckersley, according to WFXT.
Eckersley is facing charges in connection with the incident too, WFXT reported.
