DELTA TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A toddler is in the hospital after gunfire erupted outside a Michigan entertainment venue during a birthday party, authorities said.
According to WLNS and WILX, the drive-by shooting occurred about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Zap Zone in Delta Township. A woman told WLNS that her 3-year-old granddaughter and other family members were attending a birthday party inside the venue when shots were fired outside, striking the girl.
The toddler is undergoing surgery at a nearby hospital, authorities said.
Investigators with the Eaton County Sheriff’s Office are still searching for a suspect or suspects in connection with the shooting, WILX reported. No further information was immediately available.
