INDIANAPOLIS — One person has been injured in a second shooting this year at a shopping mall in Indianapolis.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department confirmed on Twitter that one person was shot Friday at the Castleton Square Mall.
Police also said that the suspect was longer at the scene.
“IMPD officers are on scene of a report of a single person shot at Castleton Square Mall. Officers used a tourniquet on the victim for first aid. The suspect is no longer on scene,” the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department tweeted.
The person who was injured was taken to the hospital. According to The Associated Press, there have not yet been any updates or additional information about their current condition.
The mall is expected to be closed throughout the evening as the investigation continues. No information about the suspect has yet been released, according to the AP.
Police said, according to the AP, that this is Castleton Square Mall’s second shooting this year. The other one was on Jan. 3 when a 16-year-old boy was killed and a man was hospitalized. That shooting took place in a parking lot outside of the mall.
