The Greater Dayton Regional Transit Authority (RTA) will be offering free rides through the remainder of 2022 to encourage residents to delay travel plans.

“The RTA will suspend the collection of fares for the remainder of 2022 to encourage those who can to delay their travel until the weather improves next week,” a spokesperson with RTA said in a media release shared with News Center 7. “Free rides will be offered on all RTA vehicles, including fixed-route and paratransit services.”
RTA advises customer to prepare for the storm expecting to bring around one to three inches of snow and up to 50 mph winds, according to the spokesperson.

It is encouraged to delay travel plans set for Friday and Saturday, the spokesperson said.
“With the major storm expected to greatly impact the Miami Valley over the next few days, we are advising riders that services may be delayed as our professional drivers deal with the challenging road conditions expected,” RTA CEO Robert Ruzinsky said.
The Transit App and RTA’s RideTime technology allows riders to track their bus live on the RTA website.
